National Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Alliance

STRUCTURE AND GOVERNANCE

The Acupuncture Alliance is governed by an 11-member Board of Directors.

To ensure geographical representation, the professional membership in each of five regions elects a professional member to serve on the Board. Three additional professional members-at-large are elected by the overall professional membership. Three public members are appointed by the Board.

A Council of Presidents has been established within the Acupuncture Alliance to ensure that state and local membership associations have a forum for sharing recommendations and concerns with the Board.

The day-to-day work is guided by the elected Board and standing committees. To encourage the broadest possible participation by you and your fellow members, the Acupuncture Alliance actively seeks non-Board members to serve on committees.

All major policy decisions in the Acupuncture Alliance are made by mail vote of the voting membership with each professional member having one vote.
